I weighed you on our home scale and I believe you've gained a pound or two, putting you at 16, but who really knows for sure. You are still without teeth, although this morning you woke up with a stuffy nose and drool (for the first time ever) so I think we're finally close to a breakthrough. Your hair, while still deceivingly strawberry in photographs, is going to be blonde.
Development: You're in full FAST crawling mode and we're starting to have to intervene between siblings when you suddenly break free from the living room and crawl into the playroom, pull up on the table and try to eat Lane's tiny legos. Keeping a second from choking hazards is considerably harder than a first, FYI. You pull up on furniture and occasionally test your balance, but no cruising yet. You prefer your super crawl. You're a wiggle worm and want to grab and reach for everything. Gone are the days of sitting you in our lap when we eat, or sitting somewhere with you, period. We just put you on the ground.
You're still pretty shy around people and you do a cute, bashful thing where you bury your face in my shirt when people talk to you. I
love this and would definitely be okay if you did it for a few more years. It's very sweet. At home though, you're a babbling baby and try to copy our syllables and games. None of your babbles have resulted in a "mama" though.... :-(
Eating: We cut anything and everything up into bite-sized pieces for that gummy mouth of yours and you eat it all. Your favorite foods right now are broccoli (surprise!), bread, oatmeal with a touch of brown sugar, and any fruit (peaches, plums, strawberries, watermelon, any of it really). You also still breastfeed a ton, and DEFINITELY still for comfort. That bashful, shirt-burying thing I love usually ends up in a breastfeeding struggle.
Sleeping: You're consistent with this now and it's awesome. You wake at 6 or 6:30. You go down for a nap from 9-11, then another nap from 2-4. You're completely ready for bed at 7 and fall asleep by nursing and getting a few songs. You've woken at night only a few times in the last month and put yourself back to sleep fairly easily. Mostly though, you sleep all the way through.
You share a room with your brother, who sometimes wakes up from dreams by SCREAMING his little butt off. This actually doesn't disturb you. If you DO wake up, you just raise your head and look around, and put it back down. Thank goodness.
